Honiton Golf Club has been shortlisted for the Club of the Year National Awards for 2024.

After winning the title in 2023, the club is excited to attend a gala dinner in Leicester later this month to find out if they will win again.

Devon Greenslade, Club Manager at HGC, said: "It is an outstanding achievement to be nominated and the club has done so in four categories; Best Golf Club, Best Club Caterer, Best Club Volunteers and Best Club Manager."

The National Club Awards celebrate the important role clubs play across the country.

Honiton Golf Club has been recognised for its commitment to the community.

Jayne Jackson, Business Development Director at HGC, said: "We are thrilled to again be shortlisted for the Club Awards 2024, it really is a testament to the hard work and efforts made by our team, volunteers and members alike who have gone above and beyond to support us with a number of initiatives that were held this year; including our Women On Par, Golf Access and the introduction of our Academy Pathway."

Jackson continued: "Our aim is to continue to reach out to the local community and show that not only does golf have health benefits, it is also a fun and inclusive sport for everyone.

On Saturday, October 26, Honiton Golf Club held the Honiton Challenge, where all four sections competed in a Stableford event.

This year, the Juniors secured a resounding victory with a total of 226 points, leading by 25 points over the Seniors.

Junior Michael Holt was the standout player, scoring an impressive 44 points.

Additionally, on Wednesday, October 23, 33 Honiton ladies participated in a competition for the Breast Cancer Brooch.

Caroline Bond emerged victorious with a score of 35 points, while Barbara Cummings won the 9-hole competition with 16 points.
