Rosie Bennet, the captain of the Beer Blazers netball team, has announced her decision to step down from her role.

It comes after seven years of unwavering commitment and exceptional leadership.

Bennett's tenure as captain has been nothing short of remarkable, marked by her transformative leadership that propelled the team from the bottom of the lowest division in Honiton Netball League to the prestigious heights of Division 1.

Under Bennett's guidance, the Beer Blazers underwent a remarkable journey, rising from anonymity to becoming a force to be reckoned with on the netball court.

Her strategic prowess, coupled with her unmatched dedication, played a pivotal role in the team's ascension through the ranks.

Bennett's leadership was characterised by selflessness and versatility, as she consistently prioritised the team's success above all else.

Often, she would place herself in positions that others were unwilling or unable to play, showcasing her adaptability and skill across a wide range of roles.

Her versatility on the court knew no bounds, with no position too challenging for her to master.

In recent seasons, she has fine-tuned her defensive skills by regularly playing goal keeper.

Reflecting on Bennett's leadership, Amanda Partridge, a long-standing member of the team, expressed admiration for Rosie’s passionate and nurturing nature.

She said: "Rosie was always inclusive and encouraging.

"Her enthusiasm for the game always came through, but what also always stood out is how kind and supportive she was".

Ash Abbott added: “From the moment I joined the team, Rosie made sure I felt comfortable amongst new teammates whilst starting a new sport.

"She is my biggest hype woman and has put her heart and soul into getting Beer Blazers to the top end of Division 1.

"I have gained a friend for life – on, and off, the court".

Despite stepping down from her role as captain, Bennett will remain an integral part of the Beer Blazers team.

Taking over the reigns as captain is Alara Jenkins, who is poised to carry on Bennett's legacy while leading the team into a new era of success.
