If ever you needed proof that rugby is a game for all and once you’ve played this wonderful sport, the love affair very rarely disappears, a video from Honiton RFC ticks that box.
Playing in the traditional Boxing Day exhibition match was a certain David ‘Stopper’ Todd, who is 78 years old and a former President of the Club, but Stopper was not there for a ceremonial event or just to make up the numbers.
As the video evidence demonstrates, Stopper peels away from a phase, offloads a well-judged pass to his left and then flies into a tackle to help maintain the attacking move.
As of last week, the video was knocking on the door of one million views and can be found on the Honiton RFC website and Facebook page.
Take a look and take inspiration from the amazing Honiton ‘Stopper’.
