Trident Swimming Club in Axminster is heading to the national stage after winning the South West Swimming Club of the Year.
A small club with around 100 swimmers who train in Axminster and Chard most evening, with swimmers aged between nine and 18, the Trident team are coached by Claire O’Reilly and Megan Herbert, alongside chairman Nick Jean.
The Swim England National Awards are being held at the University of Birmingham on Saturday, November 18.
Swim England Chief Executive Jane Nickerson said: “The Swim England National Awards is always one of my favourite days of the year.
“It’s a day where we get a great reminder of all the truly fantastic people and clubs involved in all our sports and those that make this community so special.
“I’m delighted that this year we welcome our teaching and education awards to the ceremony, so we can create one big celebration of aquatics.”
