Honiton Town 2nds produced a ruthless display of finishing to overpower Cheriton Fitzpaine 8-1 in the Devon & Exeter League.
The home side broke the deadlock but Miles Barron responded with a screamer from distance, and the Hippos took control from there, Jake Battishill providing the pass for Taylor Murphy to finish with ease.
Alex Wicks extended the lead and Honiton were cruising at 4-1 when Tom Lipscomb rifled home a superb free-kick to complete a dominant first half.
The Hippos were relentless after the break, Finn Garman adding number five and it was then a big celebration for Tommy Griffiths, scoring his first senior goal from a deep cross by Jack Murphy.
Russell Bracey produced a couple of good saves to keep the Honiton goal intact and the victory was rounded off by a Battishill volley and Jack Murphy’s powerful header.
The scoring was even more impressive for Honiton U18s, as they dismantled Alphington with an 11-0 victory. Shay Corrick scored an incredible five goals in the first-half, with further strikes from Alfie Down, Josh Newbery, Ethan Hawes, Neil Quessou (2) and George Russell.
