Honiton RFC slipped to a 31-10 defeat at home to Torquay on the weekend, with the visitors scoring two early tries to set the tone for the afternoon, writes Jerry Rice.
The Ton never find their rhythm in the first period and trailed be 24 points at the interval but, despite the insurmountable score Honiton started the second half brightly, resulting in a try scored by Ben Spence.
Against the run of play, Torquay broke out and scored again with a converted try. The closing stages saw lots more pressure from Honiton but often final passes were spilled and there were too many turnovers. Eventually, they scored another try after sustained pressure and it was Alfie Lang who dotted down for a 31-10 score.
Dropped passes and turnovers cost dear on the day but still room for improvement when the players come back from World Cup trips next week.
