Axe Cliff Seniors had to wait for the cloud of fog to disappear last Friday before they could finish their Founders Trophy competition.

Playing in the Medford format, Simon Wellington emerged triumphant with a fantastic result of just 14, which meant he was four below par. He was closely pushed by Kevin Miller and Anthony Critchfield.

It was a good week for the Seniors as they also beat a strong Long Sutton team on their own turf by 3.5 to 2.5 in a very enjoyable match and a great evening meal. These friendly games against other clubs are a wonderful way of playing on other Courses at little cost and are always played in a wonderful spirit.

The Mens Section finished the week with their Monthly Stableford. The winner, Shane Brown, showed his class with a fine 44 points. Stephen Pritchard and Stephen Reed took second and third spots both on 39 points each.
