Honiton Golfer Andy Clark, who plays off a one handicap represented Devon in the County Senior's match v local rivals Cornwall at St Enodoc golf course.
Andy represented Honiton in superb style, as he halved his singles match and won his Greensomes to help give Devon a big win over the local rivals.
There was more lovely weather for the ladies’ competition, the Bradshaw Bogey. The winner of the trophy was Anne Jarvis, who finished the round with a 'plus 5' score. Division 1 prizes were given to Olwen Eaton (plus 4), Sue Kelson (evens) and Jayne Jackson (minus 1).
Anne Jarvis took first prize in Division 2, followed by Jo Donmall (plus 1), Liz Rogers (evens on countback) and Mona Carter (evens). The 9-hole competition was won by Monica Scovell.
Vice captain Neil Price took the senior side to Lyme Regis for a friendly fixture, the weather was on the blowy side which added a further degree of difficulty. The team came away with a very credible 3-3 draw. Derek Keen & David Evans, David Woodruff & Ian Collier and Peter Waters & Larry Goodliffe were the winners for Honiton and are looking forward to the return leg.
In contrast, the match at Churston ended in a 4-2 loss, with John Jackson & Ian Collier being the only winners, Neil Price & Alan Devenny and Ron Graham & Steve Blundell managed to get a half in each of their matches.
The monthly medal proved a tight affair, as Tony Proudfoot not only won in Division 2 with a score of 68, pipping David Morris who won Division 1, but also triumphed in the overall medal competition. Tony's victory was decided by the better back nine using the handicap allowance system, Sydney Martin came closest to the winners with a very good score of 69.
There was an excellent turnout for this month's drawn Greensomes, with 32 members taking part. The top two pairs both scored a splendid 43 points but, after countback, it was Cathy Utlley and Rob Grove who took first prize and won the Centenary Goblets, with Maureen and Harry Lawrence in second place.
Third prize went to Linda Curtis and John Craig who scored 42 points and fourth place went to Sue Ritchie and Ian Jeeves with 41 points.
