Founders Day at Honiton Golf Club was played in Stableford format with the team consisting of three men and a lady.
Robert Loader, Mike Lee, Mike Drew and Sarah Loader combined to win with a total of 82 points, beating by the narrowest of margins on countback, Dave Carnall, Wayne Broom, Tim Metheringham and Cathy Williams.
Third with 80 was Marcus and Heidi Watson-Jones, Julian Netherway and Matt Young. Captains, Paul Willey and Jane Jackson thanked all competitors for playing in one of the oldest competitions in the calendar.
In the April Integrated Stableford, with 38 competitors and only one point between the top five, it was Paul Rutland with a fine score of 39 beating Michael Collins on countback. In third was Derek Keen, beating Ian Stephenson and Dave Carnall on countback.
Despite wet and windy weather, the course was open for the Ladies Stableford competition. Only nine ladies ventured out to play 18 holes and only three completed the course because of the dreadful conditions.
Caroline Bond took first prize with a very creditable 31 points, closely followed by Sarah Loader with 30 points. A further six ladies opted for the 9-hole stableford, which was won by Julie Smalley with an excellent 18 points.
