Honiton RFC 2nds turned on the style with an impressive 41-12 victory over Exeter Engineers, starting with the first try from Will Leonard, with a great pick-up to score.
The Engineers responded to lead 12-5 at the break but it was then all about the Ton. Good work by Jonny House forced a penalty try and Sam Platten squeezed over in the corner to make it 17-12.
Ben Kidson was next to score before House barged over next to the posts, converted by Jake Smith for 29-12. Charlie White showed good strength and awareness of for the try line to score to the right of the posts, but the victory was marred by a red card for Kidson.
The Ton did have enough in the tank for one more try by the rapid Jake Johnson and, despite the dismissal, a very entertaining match played in the right spirit.
