Honiton swimmers ended 2022 on a high, at the Plymouth Leander Christmas Cracker Gala, with 20 Swimmers competed in 74 heats over two weekends.
Competing in all 4 disciplines; Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly and Freestyle, over distances ranging from 50m to 1500m, the Honiton Stingrays were up against the biggest clubs in the South West in a field of 750 swimmers.
The team of Duncan B, Esme B, Ellen B, Isabel B-G, George B, Isabelle D, Ollie D, Lacey F, Lily F, Alex H, James L, Julia L, Hamish M, Mia M, Freya M-G, Keir O, Jake P, Chloe P, Ryan R & Hope T gave some outstanding performances, with personal best times tumbling yet again!
Over the two weekends, the team came home with 2 x Gold, 2 x Silver and 3 x Bronze, medals and 14 Devon County Qualifying Times.
The swimmers’ drive, determination and application was fantastic across both weekends and they continue to be first-class ambassadors for the club.
The club swims regularly throughout the week and are actively looking to recruit new Swim Coaches, swimmers, from the age of 7 (who have passed their Learn Swim stages). For further information, please visit the club website: http://honitonswimclub.uk/fancy-swimming-join-the-club
