Honiton slipped to a 35-27 defeat at home to Tavistock in atrocious conditions for flowing rugby.
The visitors started very brightly, scoring two early tries, as the Ton struggled to deal with the influential Tavvy scrum half. Dom Lovesy kicked some points to keep Honiton in the game 6-14, but a third Tavistock try gave them a cushion at the break.
Lovesy slotted a third penalty after the restart but, once again, the Tavvy number nine orchestrated another try for his team. The Ton finally dotted down with a powerful finish from Nick Guilbert.
Honiton got to within six points of their visitors before another score from Tavvy to lead 35-22. Ben Kidson responded with a superb surge down the wing and a strong finish, but Lovesy hit the post with his conversion, so Honiton missed out on a losing bonus point against a side that showed why they are top of the table.
