Beer Albion remain unbeaten this season after a convincing 3-0 away victory at Barnstaple Town 2nd’s, writes Richard Honnor. The win keeps them in 2nd place in the DFL North and East Division, level on points with Newtown who have a slightly superior goal difference.
The defensive trio of Joe Adkin, Charlie Ledger and Liam Cox weathered the early Barum storm, as the Fishermen contended admirably with a physical approach from their hosts.
Beer took over after the break, Josh French going close before the deadlock was broken on the hour, Giles Basson bustling through the Barnstaple defence and slipping a tidy finish underneath the sprawling body of the home ‘keeper.
Albion doubled their lead on 69 minutes, man of the match Jacob Rowe feeding French for a close-range finish and Basson sealed the win with a late third. Barnstaple travel to Beer for the return fixture this weekend.
