Beer Albion produced their best performance of the season so far with a superb 2-1 victory away at reigning Devon League Champions Exeter University.
The Fishermen gave everything to contain their hosts, who enjoyed the majority of possession but found the visiting defence generally in stubborn mood.
The game turned dramatically on a wonderful save by Elliot Driver on the stroke of half time after Beer conceded a penalty for a mis-timed tackle. With his side already 1-0 down, Driver anticipated the well-taken spot-kick with a save at full stretch to keep the Fishermen in the game.
Beer grew more into the contest after the break, Josh French denied by a good save before Giles Basson headed home a deserved equaliser. The Uni piled forward in search of a winner but were instead hit on the break, Will House hitting a speculative shot that looped into the net after a big deflection.
