The Feniton men’s team had a good win against Ottery St Mary in the County Trophy Competition, winning by 75 shots to 65, writes Roger Smith.

The winning rinks were D Sanders, R Smith, R Clarke and A Smith (28-10) and A Morgan, D Downs, J Skinner and I Veitch (19-12).

They followed this up with a win by 41-29 against Budleigh Salterton in the Foxlands competition.

The winning rinks in the Budleigh success were D Sanders, G Phillips, R Clarke and A Smith (25-15) and I Veitch, R Binmore, A Kury and K Lovering (17-14).

The men’s Over-60s Triples League A team lost narrowly to Hemyock A, going down 34-31, but they did have a winning rink: M Evans, J Skinner and I Veitch (20-13).

The ladies were victorious over Madeira in their Over-50s League fixture, winning by 33 shots to 28 with the winning rink being D Bowden, A Coyne and J Smith (20-15).

The mixed team lost its home match in the East of Exe League against Tiverton Bowling Club, going down 65-57, but there were wins for the rinks of V Murdoch, D Sanders, R Binmore and K Lovering (19-11) and L Crook, D Bowden, A Coyne and D Coyne (16-13).

However, in their friendly matches the mixed team had a very narrow win against visitors Heavitree by 60 shots to 59 with the winning rinks being L Crook, S Kury and A Kury (17-14) and G Skinner, A Morgan and R Clarke (15-15).

This was followed by a convincing home win against Plymstock, who were beaten 91 shots to 63.

In this match the winning rinks were J Wheatley, M Evans, S Kury and D Conbeer (32-7), L Crook, J Skinner, L Ley and D Coyne (26-18) and A Murdoch, A Pritchard, R Veitch and A Kury (18-11).
