Honiton Hornets Ladies Hockey Club resumed training this week and a delighted group of coaches and players back enjoying the sport.
The Hornets last played a competitive fixture in early December, when they shared a thrilling 4-4 draw with Exeter & Culm Vale 2nds.
While the West Clubs Women’s Hockey League was sadly abandoned in February, the Hornets have stayed busy through lockdown and can look forward to displaying a brand new kit when fixtures do finally return.
The Hornets received a donation of almost £500 from the Tesco Honiton charity book sale and that money was immediately put to good use, investing in a superb strip for next season.
Formed in 1975 as Feniton Ladies Hockey Club, evolving to become the Honiton Hornets in the early 1980s, the club finished third in Sedgemoor League 2 in 2019-20, and hopes are high for more success in the future.
