Fri 2nd July Dream Horse (PG) - The inspiring true story of Dream Alliance, an unlikely racehorse bred by small town bartender, Jan Vokes. With very little money and no experience, Jan convinces her neighbours to chip in their meagre earnings to help raise Dream and compete with the racing elites. Sat 10th July Sound of Metal (15) - An Oscar Winner for best Sound & best Film Editing. A heavy-metal drummer's life is thrown into freefall when he begins to lose his hearing. Utilising startling, innovative sound design techniques, director Darius Marder takes audiences inside Ruben’s experience to vividly recreate his journey into a rarely examined world. Fri 16th July The Father (12A) - Oscar Winner for Best Actor and Best Adapted Screenplay.Anthony (Anthony Hopkins) is 80, mischievous and living defiantly alone while rejecting the carers that his daughter, Anne (Olivia Colman), encouragingly introduces. Yet help is also becoming a necessity for Anne; she can't make daily visits anymore and Anthony's grip on reality is unravelling. 28-30 July Murdered to Death by Peter Gordon. Honiton Community Theatre Company are back with this hilarious take on a murder mystery. The play introduces the inept and bungling Inspector Pratt, who battles against the odds and his own incompetence to solve the murder of the house’s owner. It soon becomes clear that the murderer isn’t finished yet; will the miscreant be unmasked before everyone else has met their doom or will the audience die laughing first?
