THREE Fire Crews were sent to a report of a fire within a domestic property in Gittisham, Devon.
The fire was reported at 8.38am this morning (November 29) and the firefighters were on scene battling the flames until 2.16pm.
On arrival, the crews confirmed there was a fire within a bedroom and one person was rescued by the fire service crews.
The attending stations were Honiton, Ottery St Mary, Sidmouth and Middlemoor.
The fire was extinguished using four breathing apparatuses, one hose reel jet and a thermal image camera.
The casualty was handed over to on scene ambulance crews, who sent a double-crewed ambulance, an operations officer, a critical care car and the hazardous area response team to the scene at 9.04am on Friday, November 29.
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital.”
The cause of the fire is currently still being investigated by the police.
