A FLOOD alert has been issued for the River Axe stating that "flooding is possible" overnight on Tuesday, November 26.
Affected areas include Rivers Axe, Coly, Yarty, Umborne, Brook and coastal streams from Branscombe to Axmouth.
Catchments are wet due to heavy rain associated with Storm Bert and further rainfall is expected in the River Axe area over Tuesday night.
The rainfall is forecast to cause river levels to rise and many cause flooding to low lying land and roads close to rivers.
River levels will remain high into Wednesday, November 28.
Authorities are saying to "take care near areas of concern and avoid walking or driving through floodwater."

A spokesperson said: "We are monitoring river levels and have staff in the area clearing blockages."
The flood alert message will be updated by midday on Wednesday or earlier if the situation changes.
