A charity event has raised additional funds for the RNLI.

The Art in the Attic team raised £4,358 at Beer Sailing Club on October 5 and 6, with an additional £225 from other sales.

The total will support the RNLI's mission of saving lives at sea.

Wendy Cummins, secretary at Seaton Beer and District Branch, said: "A huge thank you goes to them and everyone who has purchased and supported this fantastic event.

"It is greatly appreciated."

The charity also announced a festive coffee morning and art sale at Axmouth Village Hall on Saturday, November 30.

The event will feature art donated by the Art in the Attic team, with proceeds going to the RNLI.

Meanwhile, Wendy and her son, Alistair, have returned from their annual sponsored walk, having raised a total of £813 for the RNLI.

The walk, which took place between Kilmington and Seaton, was a muddy adventure, but Alastair and Wendy managed to secure £600 on Alastair's JustGiving page, along with an extra £200 in cash sponsorship and donations, plus £13 via SumUp during their travels.

The RNLI encourages others to join them on future walks, which are kept under ten miles and are mostly downhill or flat.

The RNLI's shop at Jubilee Gardens is now closed for the winter months and is set to reopen in spring 2025.

The charity expressed gratitude to everyone who supported the shop, as well as Bev from Beer for the painted shells that contributed to the overall donations received at the RNLI shop during the year.

Pecorama has also been thanked for its support as charity of the year.

The RNLI's volunteers will be selling Christmas cards and gifts at various events, including the Colyton Christmas Fair on December 4, the Festive Craft Fair at Beer Church on December 6, the SOS Concert on December 7, and the Axe Yacht Club on December 8.

After December 9, the Christmas cards will be available at the RNLI Lyme Regis shop.

Looking ahead, the RNLI has announced an SOS Table Top Sale for Saturday, January 25, 2025.

Further details will be available from Wendy, and she can be contacted via email: wac500@hotmail.co.uk.
