THIS year's Nailsea Remembrance Day parade will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2024 with the parade meeting outside the scout hut on Hannah More Road.
The parade will set off at 10.20am and continue along Hannah More Road, St Mary’s Grove and Church Lane to the War Memorial in front of the entrance to Holy Trinity Church where a wreath laying ceremony will take place.
James Packman, Rector of the Holy Trinity Church, will lead the ceremony with a speech and wreaths being laid by various groups in Nailsea including Nailsea Air Cadets, Nailsea Army Cadets, 1st and 2nd Nailsea Scouts, Nailsea Guides, Avon Fire Service, Nailsea Police, Nailsea Town Council, Nailsea & Backwell Rotary and many others.
Jo Duffy, clerk of Nailsea Town Council said: "This parade is a very important part of the Nailsea calendar.
"We are looking forward to the event being extremely well attended and if possible with more people than in 2023.
"To help us organise the event safely we recommend that that members of the public stand on the pavement along the route and keep the area immediately around the War Memorial clear to allow the parade to gather.
"Thank you, your help in this matter will be very much appreciated and will ensure the event is safe for all.”
