ON Wednesday, November 6, a cheque for £3500 was presented to Kathryn and James Voysey at Colcombe Castle Hotel, Colyton for their named charity fund "Biff's Battle" in memory of their late daughter, Elizabeth.

Kathryn Voysey said: “My main aim is to fund research to find effective treatments for other children and to support families, like you have for us."

"A wonderful way to honour a beautiful little girl."

The money was raised through the sponsored completion of the three peaks challenge and many other fundraising initiatives.

Lauren Mear, a Biffs Battle charity spokesperson said: “I trained with Emelie Real to complete it on September 7 but I became ill the week before we were due to do it, so my fiancé Chris Long stepped in at the last minute to complete the challenge with Emelie for me.

“Our total has been given a boost from the Colyton Peace Memorial Playing Fields Association who donated their Party in Park gate money, and from Simon Parsons and the Newton family who donated the money raised from the Pete Newton Memorial darts competition held at the Kingfisher in Colyton earlier this month.

"A huge thank you to everyone involved."
