SYMONDS & Sampson held their “beat the budget” auction ahead of the announcements on Wednesday, October 30 and report "strong auction results" overall.
Auctioneer Mark Lewis said: “ We thought a few buyers would fall away whilst awaiting to hear how the budget would affect them but, although we missed a couple, most bidders were looking longer term and wanting to earn income rather than look towards capital tax planning.”
Auction partner Meredith Wallis agreed and added: “We had bidders from all over the south and East of England and most were outbid by buyers within our region. The prices paid for agricultural land was particularly pleasing and shows a great confidence in British farming.”
