AXMINSTER Christmas together is all set to bring holiday joy to Axminster Guildhall again this year.

Axminster Christmas together (ACT) has announced the return of its annual Christmas Day celebration, a festive gathering at Axminster Guildhall for anyone in the Axminster area who might otherwise spend the day alone.

Founded in 2015 by Lesley Frankau and Paul Hayward, ACT seeks to tackle the loneliness and isolation that many people face over the Christmas period by offering a complimentary Christmas meal, great company, and holiday cheer for everyone in attendance.

Each year, ACT welcomes around 75 guests, and this year’s event is already generating high interest, with many previous guests and volunteers looking forward to attending again.

Guests will enjoy a delicious Christmas lunch, lively festive entertainment, a complimentary raffle and the opportunity to make new friends.

Transport to and from the Guildhall is available for those needing assistance, provided it’s arranged with ACT in advance.

Co-Founder Lesley Frankau encouraged those set to spend Christmas Day alone to join her at this year's event, she said: “Christmas Day would not be the same without seeing so many of our guests over the years, many of whom have become friends.

“ACT embodies the spirit of the festive season, and everyone who helps beforehand or on the day enjoys welcoming long-time guests and people who come along for the first time.

“No one needs to spend the day alone. Join us on December 25 and enjoy delicious food, great company and a friendly welcome.”

Due to limited availability, early booking is essential.

Booking forms and volunteer signup sheets are available at the Axminster Town Council Office in the Guildhall and various other locations around town.

A complete list of pickup points can be found on ACT’s Facebook page, or you can contact ACT for more information.

To avoid disappointment, all completed forms must be returned by Monday, December 16.

Axminster Christmas together is a non-profit event made possible through the generosity of donors and local sponsors.

Community members and businesses who would like to support ACT by donating money or gifts in kind are also encouraged to get in touch with the ACT team.

Lesley added: “Your generosity ensures that this meaningful holiday tradition remains accessible to all who need it.

“I can’t wait to see everyone at this year’s event.”
