FOUR women from Beer village, Devon, have raised just over £4,300 for the RNLI, through a charity exhibition and art sale of donated pieces that were all “too good to simply give away”.
From “Naughty” to “Nautical” paintings on display, the recent Art in the Attic fundraiser in Beer village had a "very successful" sales weekend - selling preloved and new art all for the RNLI in its 200th year.
The call for art attracted oils, watercolours and prints galore with the subjects ranging from nudes to landscapes.
Many of the nudes came from the private collection of renowned sculptor, Therese Theodas, and were generously donated to support this worthy cause.
The exhibition and sale were both held over the weekend of October 5 and 6 at the Beer Sailing Club who kindly waived their usual rental fees in support of the charity event.
Wendy Cummins from the Beer and Seaton RNLI fundraising team accepted the cheque from the Art in the Attic team.
Wendy said: “The RNLI are extremely grateful for all who contributed to this wonderful total, helping us to save lives at sea”.
