A historic sponsored walk is set to continue, following a route first taken over three decades ago.
The annual Autumn Sponsored Walk will take place on Sunday, October 20, at 10am, starting from Kilmington at the junction of Roman Road and Shute Road.
The postcode for the meeting point is EX13 7ST.
The route this year will have walkers proceeding up the road, through woods towards Shute, then bearing right at Haddon Corner.
Walkers will then pass a church and school, reaching a road junction with Shute Barton on the left.
From there, the walk continues down the road in the direction of Colyton, bearing right at Boarscroft Cross.
Walkers will be told to go straight along the lane, beneath a railway bridge, towards Lexhayne Farm.
The route then takes a grass track through the farmyard/houses, over two narrow bridges, and up a track to Trichmarch Farm, continuing through Trichhayne until reaching the road.
An alternative route directly to Colyton will be signposted for a shorter and drier option, especially useful after rain.
For those preferring a more scenic route, a bridleway to Hooperhayne will be available, but walkers are warned it may be muddy.
The journey continues along the lane to Colyton, or through a gate to a bridleway leading to the river.
Colyton offers the chance for refreshments at The Garden Shop, The Kingfisher, or local shops.
Afterwards, the route leads down Dolphin Street, turns right along Govers Meadow, and follows a public footpath to the river.
Crossing over the bridge, walkers will proceed to Colyford, then up Swan Hill Road.
Care is advised due to busy traffic.
For those needing a refreshment break, The White Hart and The Wheelright are some of the options.
From Colyford, the route continues down a footpath to the Seaton Wetlands, following paths to Seaton.
Dogs must be kept under control, or owners can follow Colyford Road or Harepath Road directly to Seaton.
The walk concludes at the Old Picture House, Seaton, or participants can head straight home.
Those wishing to go to Beer can choose their own route.
The walk, a continuation from 1992's beginning at Stockland Hill Television Mast and the 2018 start at Kilmington promises a day of adventure, community spirit, and a touch of history.
The walk is set to raise money for the RNLI.
