A multimedia theatrical event celebrating Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo Buonarroti is coming to a Devon stage.

The Da Vinci Michelangelo Experience, created and performed by Mark Rodgers, will debut in the UK at The Beehive, in Honiton, on Friday, September 27.

The show, which has already been a hit in the USA, brings the inventions, machines, sketches, paintings, and sculptures of da Vinci and Michelangelo to life through giant projections, which move and rotate as Mr Rodgers speaks.

The show not only traces the history, rivalry, and creativity of the Renaissance pair, but also reveals how they continue to inspire today's artists - and encourages audiences to seek out their own inner da Vinci or Michelangelo.

Mr Rodgers began his career at the CBS Television Network in Hollywood, and is now director of the Da Vinci Machines and Michelangelo Exhibitions in partnership with the Leonardo Da Vinci Museum in Florence.

His exhibitions have toured the USA, Australia, Europe, and China, and inspired him to create the Da Vinci Michelangelo Experience.

The Experience has clocked more than 100 performances at the off-Broadway SoHo Playhouse in New York City, receiving nominations for six Broadway World awards, including Best Play and Best Performance, in 2022.

The show is directed by Bill Stine, with lighting design by Maartin Cornelis and technical/sound design by John Rodgers.

Theater Scene described Rodgers as a "vivacious, enthusiastic advocate for these two remarkable stories," while Intermission Talk said: "In this compelling work ... Rodgers delivers colourful yet remarkably detailed descriptions of their lives."

Tickets for the show, which will be performed at 2pm (with an optional lunch) and 7pm on Friday, September 27, are available for £22.50.

Tickets can be purchased from the Beehive website, beehivehoniton.co.uk, or by calling the box office on 01404 384050.
