A couple have lost nearly nine-and-a-half stone between them after joining a popular weight-loss group.

Seaton husband and wife, Brian and Pam Gravenor have transformed their health after joining Julie Pearce's Slimming World group at Seaton Scout Hut.

As a result, he no longer suffers from high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or pre-diabetes.

He said: "Slimming World isn't a fad diet, it's a lifestyle change, one that easily works into life and is sustainable."

Ms Gravenor has lost almost 4 stone and dropped from a size 22 to a size 12.

She has also overcome high blood pressure and significantly improved the symptoms of her Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a lifelong connective tissue disorder causing joint pain.

Ms Gravenor said that it has "completely changed her life".

The couple praised Slimming World for its easy-to-follow plan and lifelong effectiveness.

They credited their consultant Ms Pearce and the support of fellow slimmers for their success.

Ms Pearce, who runs groups in Seaton and Honiton, said: "I absolutely love my role, it is so rewarding and heartwarming seeing people change their lives and improve their health for good.

"Since starting my group in Seaton last October, I have seen Brian and Pam transform before my eyes, they have become healthier, more confident and more active with our body magic exercise programme.

"Brian was also our group Man of the Year.

"Just incredibly inspiring people.

"It's so wonderful that people can lose weight but still socialise and live life, still enjoying the food they love, just a healthier version."

She runs sessions at The Beehive in Honiton on Tuesdays at 9.15am and 5.30pm, and at Seaton Scout Hut on Wednesdays at 5.15pm and Thursdays at 9.30am.
