The 62nd Upottery Flower and Vegetable Show had over 600 entries across various categories.

Held at the Manor Rooms, Upottery on August 17, the event which drew both new and returning participants attracted a vast crowd, making it a grand success.

The show committee stated that the event had raised over £1,000 and that they would like to thank all those who took part and those who attended on the day plus the advertisers for making the show a great success.

The excitement around the 2025 show is already building, with the date set to be announced via the parish pump.

Cup winners included Mike Hawkins who clenched the Gould Cup for the most points in the Flower classes and the Gould Cup for an outstanding flower arrangement went to Sandra Russell.

Pat Carter snapped up the Spiller Trophy for an outstanding vase of cut flowers and the Herbert Crabb Cup for most points in the veg class.

Lily Tucker was awarded the Flower Show Cup for scoring the most points in the whole show and also the Cooke Bowl for most points in the cookery section, whilst Sandra Russell won the Lewis Arscott Cup for most points in the miscellaneous section.

In the fine arts section, the Witt Cup for best painting in show was won by Ruth Strange and the Reg Gould Cup for best drawing went to Gilly Thomas.

Sandra Russell again triumphed with the Bowls Cup - People’s Choice award and the Lane Cup for People's Choice in the adult category with her RNLI 200-year piece.

The Tucker Bowl for most points in flower arranging classes also went to Sandra Russell whilst the Paul Palmer Photo Frame for most points in photo classes was won by Pat Carter.

Making a great first impression was Cathy Popham who claimed the Jim Thomas New Entrant Award.

Young tub-thumpers, Branwen Gibbs, Ada McCaie, and Rowan Davies were superlative in their age categories respectively.

The Ruby Cooke Plate for the best rose in the show was presented to Marigold Hodge and Mike Hawkins bagged the Ann Bartlet plate for Outstanding Vegetable exhibit.

A notable mention is Rosie Tucker who clinched the Bowls Cup for People's Choice in the children's category with her Chick Hatching piece.
