A new initiative aims to help East Devon businesses and community organisations become more environmentally friendly.

The East Devon District Council fully-funded programme offers free support, helping organisations measure and reduce their carbon footprint and work towards becoming net zero.

As part of their East Devon Carbon Action Programme (EDCAP), they are offering an exciting free roadshow this summer, bringing green business information and support to various East Devon venues.

With knowledgeable and inspirational celebrity speakers ready to show them how their organisation can adopt eco-friendly practices.

They will also offer practical workshops to put inspiration into practice as businesses start to develop their own action plans.

The EDCAP is partnering with digital agency Cosmic and environmental consultants Carbon Sense, providing free practical advice and guidance.

This assistance includes one-to-one sustainability and digital support sessions, a self-learning platform with video resources, and specialist support to measure emissions.

They will also share all the details about the free business support and a new grant soon to be available to businesses, charities and community organisations across East Devon to help them on their net zero journey.

More information about how to get involved can be found on their website.

The programme’s free roadshow this summer will feature several celebrity speakers.

One of these events, hosted at Kennaway House on July 18, will feature Mike Dilger, an ecologist, TV presenter and wildlife reporter on the BBC’s The One Show.

Other speakers will include Nigel Marvin at Escot on July 16 and Ben Mee at Heron Farm on September 12.

Each event will provide attendees with further insights into how they can put green initiatives into practice in their own organisations.
