Lifeboat Week in Lyme Regis comes to town again this year on July 27th.

The annual event which has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for the lifesaving RNLI charity since the 1970s

Final touches to plans are being made by volunteer members of the Lyme Regis and Charmouth Lifeboat Supporters and the lifeboat crew.

The week will be officially launched at the lifeboat station at 11am on Saturday July 27th by Jules Hudson, presenter of BBC TV’s Escape to the Country. Jules, a keen supporter of the RNLI, forged strong links with Lyme Regis earlier this year when he took a 12-week furniture course at the town’s renowned Boat Building Academy.

The first day will also feature attractions including a welcome display by the Lyme Regis inshore lifeboat, Spirit of Loch Fyne, and the neighbouring Shannon class all-weather lifeboat based at Exmouth, the ever-popular bathtub race and belly dancing by Eastern Promise.

Lifeboat week programmes are now available at the RNLI shop on the Cobb and at outlets around the town.
