A charity coffee morning was held at Uphay Farm on Friday, June 14 to raise funds for Axminster and Lyme Regis cancer support group.

Nicola Cunningham hosted a 'highly successful' event for the charity dedicated to providing services and support to those affected by cancer.

The morning was blessed with bright, sunny weather, allowing guests to fully enjoy the garden and an array of homemade cakes, freshly brewed tea and coffee, as well as a chance to mingle and connect with friends and neighbours, all while supporting a worthy cause.

Nicola expressed her gratitude to the local community for their overwhelming support and generosity. "It was wonderful to see so many people come together to support Axminster and Lyme Cancer Support," she said. "The atmosphere was fantastic, and I’m truly grateful for everyone's contributions”.

Nicola added: "The success of this coffee morning shows just how much we can achieve within our community when we come together."

Thanks to the enthusiastic participation and donations from the community, a grand total of £1,140.70 was raised during the event. These funds will go directly to Axminster and Lyme Cancer Support, aiding their mission to provide emotional, practical support and assistance to cancer patients and their families in the East Devon and West Dorset area.

Mary Kahn, founder of the charity said: “We really appreciate Nicola hosting and raising this fantastic amount of money for us”.

“Axminster and Lyme Cancer Support plays a crucial role in the community, offering a range of services. There are a variety of services available from creative activities, holistic therapies, relevant diet and lifestyle information, different exercise classes all for anyone affected by any cancer."
