Two choirs are coming together in support of specialist end-of-life care in our community.

On Saturday June 22 at 7:30pm, the Budleigh Salterton Male Voice Choir and the East Devon Rock Choir will perform together at a concert at St Paul’s Church, Honiton in support of Budleigh Salterton & District Hospiscare.

Event organisers say: “We are looking forward to this exciting event, and hope many community members will come along and enjoy the evening. The Hospiscare nurses were so kind and supportive to our mum and family at a very difficult time. We appreciate and thank them for the help and support they gave us.”

East Devon Rock Choir leader Carey Camel said: “I took on leading this exciting choir last year and just want to say that I’m really looking forward to this event, especially since it will be the first formal concert I will give as the Rock Choir Leader” Matt Jeffrey, Musical Director from BSMVC, says “Our choir has a history of singing to raise funds for charity, and is excited to be returning to Honiton after several years and to be part of this concert to support Budleigh Salterton & District Hospiscare.”

Martin Briggs, chairman of Budleigh Salterton & District Hospiscare said: “We are so grateful to our supporters in the choirs for coming together for this concert. All the funds raised will go to helping pay the costs of palliative care for patients of the Budleigh Medical Centre and the Woodbury Surgery. Raising funds at this event helps Hospiscare’s end-of-life services to continue for other families in our community in the future - and what better way to do that than with a fabulous night of choral music?”

Budleigh Salterton & District Hospiscare is an independent local charity raising their own funds to cover all the costs of patients registered with Budleigh Salterton Medical Centre and Woodbury Surgery who are cared for by Hospiscare’s end of life services. To book tickets call 01395 267218
