A large fire at Poltimore House this morning (April 9) is being treated as 'suspicious', according to Devon and Cornwall Police.
Fire crews were called at around 1am on Tuesday April 9 to Poltimore House near Exeter. Two engines were dispatched but once they arrived, they found the fire was well-established.
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "On arrival, crews confirmed this derelict property was fully involved in fire and requested a further three Fire Engines (six in total), two Aerial Ladder Platforms and two Water Bowsers. Crews have been using multiple jets to extinguish the fire.
The fire is now out, but two fire engines and one Aerial Ladder Platform remain on scene dampening down hotspots to prevent the fire esclating. Police are also in attendance.
