The Beer and Lyme Regis Coastguard Team were called out last night (March 28) to help people trying to rescue their beach huts on Seaton seafront.
People were at risk due to the strong winds, while trying to recover their beach huts which were blown onto the beach.
Beer and Lyme coastguards said: "We were tasked to attend last night as some people were putting themselves at risk of injury by trying to get to their beach huts as seas were breaking over them."
East Devon was hit by strong winds and high tides yesterday, particularly on the coast. A yellow weather warning was issued. The Met Office said: "People living in coastal areas are particularly at risk due to large waves. There is a small chance of longer journey times or cancellations as road, rail, air and ferry services are affected."
Roads around Sidmouth were also closed due to heavy rain flooding the roads, and the Exe and Sid were issued with 'flooding is expected' flood alerts by the Environment Agency.
