A new country music theatre show is set to debut in Honiton this Spring.
A Country Music Songbook, which will debut at The Beehive, offers audiences an exploration into the history and heritage of country music.
Seasoned musicians and singers will breathe life into the production, which features a specially curated selection of songs accompanied by projected imagery.
Over the course of the evening on March 29, the show will span a timeline of ten decades of country music, providing a insight into the genre's progression and its lasting resonance with global audiences.
Axminster musician Alan West, part of the show’s ensemble, said: "The opportunity to play the music I love, with some unquestionably great players and singers, in such an interesting and innovative production is exciting, and we are very much looking forward to taking the show across the UK, and who knows, maybe beyond, this year and next.”
The performance promises to mix classics from The Carter Family, Billy Joel, Buck Owens, John Hiatt, Elvis and Asleep at The Wheel.
Rachael Larsson, The Beehive’s marketing manager, said: "We are delighted to be hosting A Country Music Songbook’s debut performance.
"One of the producers lives locally and they filmed their showreel here, so we had a sneaky peek. It’s a fab show."
Tickets for the 7.30pm show are available at The Beehive's website or from their Box Office.
