Two popular events are coming to The Beehive in Honiton over the next few weeks.
First on the venue's busy schedule is 'The Real Manhunter Live Talk!', an intriguing journey into the career of writer, broadcaster and former murder detective, DCI Colin Sutton.
On Friday, January 26 at 7.30pm, Mr Sutton, a former head of the Metropolitan Police Murder Squad, will discuss everything from unravelling cold cases and pursuing serial killers, to writing books and creating TV shows.
He said: "In the show I will talk you through my career, how policing has changed, what it's like to chase a serial killer and how I made the step from policing to storytelling."
Mr Sutton earned a reputation after retiring from a 30-year police career in 2011, penning books about two of his major investigations that were later turned into the popular ITV drama series ‘Manhunt’, where Martin Clunes played the role of Colin Sutton.
'The Real Manhunter Live Talk!' is a must-see for true crime fans, offering a unique insight into Mr Sutton's career and life after the police force, and particularly his award-nominated true crime documentary series ‘The Real Manhunter’ on Sky Crime.
Tickets are available at £16 per person.
A week later, on Friday, February 2 from 10am –to 12pm, The Beehive will host Honiton’s Health + Wellbeing Hub.
It is a free information and support event for the local community.
Local organisations such as Honiton Health Matters, Honiton Carers Group, Honiton LED and Honiton Surgery will all be present, giving out advice, information, and support.
The Honiton Surgery will be conducting blood pressure checks for visitors, in a concerted community effort to promote and encourage better health among Honiton residents.
Accessible seating for 'The Real Manhunter Live Talk!' and wheelchair access for the Health + Wellbeing Hub can be arranged by contacting The Beehive directly.
Both events are expected to be well-attended, and community members are encouraged to book their tickets and reserve their spaces as soon as possible.
For further information on both shows, and to book tickets, call The Beehive at 01404 384050.
