A former resident of Awliscombe has been recognised with an OBE in the New Year Honours.
Katie Gallagher, who attended Colyton Grammar School, has received her award for services to the digital technology industry in the north-west of England.
She now lives in Manchester and is the managing director of Manchester Digital, an organisation representing a wide range of businesses in Greater Manchester's tech and digital sector.
She is also founder of the NW Cyber Resilience Centre and chair of UK Tech Cluster Group.
She said she was 'incredibly surprised' when she learned she was to receive the OBE, but is 'very proud' to work with the tech community in the north-west.
