ADC Youth will present School of Rock - the Musical at the Guildhall in March 2024.
The show is based on the hit 2003 film starring Jack Black, and has a script by Julian Fellowes and a score by Andrew Lloyd-Webber.
The story centres on dropout and failed rock guitarist Dewey Finn, who's been kicked out of his band and is forced to earn some extra cash by posing as a teacher at a prestigious prep school. Finding that his class of pupils are talented musicians but sadly lacking in rock music knowledge or a spirit of rebellion, he forms a band from the best of the bunch and educates them about 'sticking it to The Man'. But can his new group win the Battle of the Bands without being 'schooled' by their parents and headmistress, or will Dewey have to face the music?
The production by ADC Youth follows on from the success of their staging of Matilda Jr in March 2023.
It will be at the Guildhall on Friday, March 22 and Saturday 23 at 7.30pm. There will also be a matinee on Saturday at 2.30pm. Tickets are available now from Ticketsource.
