A crowdfunding page has been launched by resident Victoria Martin to raise money to make interior repairs to Honiton Family Church.
A target of £5,000 has been set. So far, £70 has been raised by six supporters.
The money raised will go towards fixing the interior of the church, which is showing its age with some damage in the main area, which occasionally leaks which then is damaging the carpet and surrounding area.
Victoria Martin said: "Recently, my mother, who serves as a deacon of the church, shared her concerns about the state of disrepair the church has fallen into.
"The burden of essential repairs has become increasingly difficult to manage financially. It broke my heart to hear this because I know how much this church means to the community.
"The church's impact extends beyond religious ceremonies. It plays a vital role in supporting the well-being of the residents in our small town.
"One of the programmes they offer is called 'Little Stars'.
"Every Monday, parents and children can gather together for a minimal fee of £1.
"This not only provides a valuable opportunity for children to socialize and interact but also offers emotional support for parents. My mom, despite working full-time, selflessly volunteers her time to ensure these sessions are accessible for all.
"I wholeheartedly believe they deserve our support. I am confident that restoring this beautiful building to its former glory would not only benefit the church members but also enhance the community as a whole.
"No contribution is too small. Together, we can help this church overcome its financial struggles and restore its physical infrastructure.
"Let us rally behind their mission, standing tall as a united community, supporting a place that has always been there for every one of us. Thank you in advance for your support."
