The owner of an American pocket bully dog which was allegedly dangerously out of control has died, a court heard.
Jack Wood, aged 26, of Axminster, Devon, was accused of being the owner or person in charge of the dog dangerously out of control in the town in March.
Exeter magistrates heard that the dog called Stitch had allegedly injured two people in the incident.
But the court was told that Wood had died the day after he last appeared in court and the prosecution withdrew the charge
