An 18-year-old Exeter man has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving following a collision involving a pedestrian in Pinhoe.
Keith Lowres, of Thursby Walk, is due to appear before Exeter Crown Court on Tuesday 29 August.
Lowres is also charged with driving otherwise in accordance with a licence, driving with no insurance, failing to stop for police, and aggravated taking without consent dangerous driving.
These charges relate to an incident on Wednesday 21 June 2023. Officers were initially called to an incident in Cranbrook at around noon. A collision between a car and a pedestrian happened a short time later in Lower Harrington Lane, Pinhoe.

The pedestrian - a woman aged in her 30s – sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital. She was later discharged and continues to recover at home.
Three other people, who are all under the age of 18, have also been charged with aggravated taking without consent dangerous driving. All three are due to appear at Exeter Magistrates’ Court, with one appearing on Tuesday 29 August and two on Thursday 31 August.
Lowres will also face a number of other charges in relation to a number of other incidents alleged to have happened between 2 April and 7 August 2023:
Five counts of perverting the course of justice on 15 May;
Three counts of bilking on 2 April, 6 April and 8 April;
Assault occasioning actual bodily harm on 11 May;
Three counts of driving otherwise in accordance with a licence on 29 April, 20 June and 7 August;
Two counts of driving with no insurance on 20 June and 7 August;
Two counts of failing to stop a vehicle for police on 20 June and 7 August;
Dangerous driving on 29 April;
An offence under Section 5 of the Public Order Act on 29 April;
Five counts of failing to identify a driver, one on 8 June and four on 11 June.
