The RNLI Mayday Appeal went from the 1st to the 31st May.

On Sunday, May 21, volunteers from Seaton Beer and District Branch: Wendy Marselle, Pat Watterson and Roger Grose joined the walk at various times along Seaton East and West Walks plus Brian and Marilyn Coates and Adrian Mills collected during the day.

RNLI Ted 1 and little Rodney RNLI Bear were in their Lifeboat Pushchair. They also had twenty two entries from the pupils of Seaton Primary School to the Colour in a Wellington Boot competiton.

The winners were Edie Moss and Dexter Flynn and the entries were judged by Jo and Lionel of Seaton. During the month of May Pat Watterson and Wendy Cummins completed the Mayday Miles. Pat walked seventy two miles and Wendy walked sixty five miles. Pat walked her miles locally and Wendy walked locally plus on holiday and on days out. The total of our Mayday Welly Walk Day Collection was £281.48 and with additional sponsor money and donations the total for the month of May was an excellent £671.63. 

Additional donations from the card payment machine will be added when allocated to our branch of the RNLI.

The next event is the Beer Lifeboat Weekend. Seaton and Beer Lifeboat's Table Top Sale at the Mariners Hall, Beer is on Saturday, July 1 from 9am to 12.30pm. The doors are to open to sellers at 8am and tables are still available for hire at £6 for one or £12. for two. Call 07790861531 or email wac500@hotmail.co.uk. There will be bacon baps (subject to availability), tea, coffee, cake, raffle, tombola and a variety of stalls.

On Sunday 2nd July it is the 16th Annual Duck Race Day. The Exmouth and Lyme Regis lifeboats are coming to do their display at 2.30pm. (subject to weather and operational requirements) Beer Coastguards will also be attending again. There will be the Sea Safety Stand, F2F Fundraisng Team and the Inflatable Shannon. We will have our own Duck Tombola and stalls and our Colour in a Duck Poster competition.  The Duck Races start at 3pm and subject to weather and operational requirements will be started by a member of the Lyme Regis Crew.
