Key Stage Two pupils at Membury Primary Academy have raised £70 for the Distaster Emergency Commitee (DEC) in Turkey and Syria and Ukraine.
They have been learning about fundraising for people that suffer in natural disasters and came up with a great idea of selling hot chocolates and cookies to the community with their teacher Stephanie Chown.
They raised an amazing £70 for the appeal.
DEC charities and their local partners are among the first responders providing urgent aid. Following the search and rescue operation, immediate priorities are access to healthcare, shelter for those who have lost their homes, heating in safe spaces, blankets, warm clothes, ensuring people have food and clean water.
A series of devastating earthquakes have hit southern Turkey and north-west Syria killing over 50,000 people and injuring many more a few months ago, but the fallout and rebuilding of local lives still carries on.
