The case of Exeter City striker Jevani Brown has been delayed by two weeks by magistrates in Exeter.
The 26-year-old footballer was due to appear before North and East Devon Magistrates on Thursday, March 9 to face an allegation of assaulting a woman by beating in Musgrave Row, Exeter, in the early hours of Thursday, February 2.
The case has now been relisted for Thursday, March 23.
Brown is Exeter City’s top scorer this season with 14 goals and nine assists, but he has not played since being charged with the offence last month.
He joined the Grecians in June 2021 after he was released by Colchester United.
After he was charged, a club statement said: “Exeter City Football Club is aware of the charge made against Jevani Brown.
“As this is a legal matter, we are unable to make any comment until legal proceedings have been concluded. He will not be selected to play during this period.”
On March 9, the club tweeted: “The case against Jevani Brown, which was due to be heard at Exeter Magistrates Court today, has now been adjourned until March 23.”
