Here's a small snapshot of the communal egg hunts and seasonal events that are happening in the area during the April school holidays and beyond...

A new spring trail to explore

The Donkey Sanctuary is bursting with life now that spring is on its way, and its latest Spring Wildlife Hunt trail, running from Friday, March 17 until Friday, June 2, gives visitors a perfect excuse to explore the sanctuary and combine exercise with brainpower. By following clues from their trail sheet, people will be able to discover wildlife boards around the sanctuary and match them up with the stickers provided. Trail sheets cost £5 each and include a prize on completion, with seasonally-themed prizes during the Easter holiday period. At this free-to visit attraction, there are hundreds of adorable donkeys to meet, as well as daily talks, engaging exhibits, scenic walks, a new children’s playpark and a maze to explore.

Trails and trains in Beer

The doors of Pecorama will officially open for the 2023 season on Tuesday, April 4, just in time for the Easter holiday. During the opening week, visitors to this charming attraction in the fishing village of Beer will find plenty of fun seasonal activities with trails for small children to navigate around, exciting steam train rides to take on the Beer Heights Light Railway, and beautiful clifftop gardens to admire. Seasonal passes are also back for 2023, offering great value for locals to visit as many times as they want and with unlimited train rides.

An egg hunt with a Jurassic theme

Huge bone structures, fossilised footprints and mysteriously large eggs will be taking centre stage at Crealy Theme Park and Resort this Easter. The attraction's traditional egg hunt has taken on a dinosaur theme for 2023 with its suitably named Eggo-Saurus Dino Hunt. Using a prehistoric map, youngsters will be encouraged to go on a quest for the precise locations of the hidden dino eggs, and be rewarded for their efforts with a yummy chocolate surprise (whilst stocks last). The theme park will also open the main rides in time for the Easter holidays including Twister and Tidal Wave.
