A drawing made by a pupil from Sampford Peverell Primary School has been chosen as the MP’s first ever official Christmas Card.
Richard Foord, MP for Tiverton and Honiton, wrote to all 45 local primary schools in the area and invited pupils to submit designs for his first ever festive card.
The competition had more than 200 entries and after a competivie contest, nine-year-old James Howitt from Sampford Peverell was chosen as the winner for his festive reindeer themed drawing.
10-year-old Lacey Fordham from Awliscombe Primary and nine-year-old Filip Lukac from Castle Primary were chosen as the two runners up.
The winner of the contest also received a £15 book token and congratulatory certificate. The two runners up will also get a £5 book token each.
Honiton and Tiverton MP Richard Foord MP said: “I really enjoyed seeing all the creativity; there were so many fantastic designs that youngsters from across our many primary schools came up with.
“It was incredibly difficult to choose a winner, but I was really impressed with James’ design and felt it really captured the festive spirit.
“Big congratulations to James, but also to runners-up Lacey and Filip for their excellent designs – and everyone who took part.
“I am very much looking forward to sending this new card to colleagues and friends.”
