Essential maintenance due to start on the A35 between Bridport and Axminster.

Essential maintenance is due to start on the A35 between Bridport and Axminster next week.

The work, including surface repairs, replacement of road studs and repainting road markings, will mean day time and overnight closures will be in place between Thursday, May 9 and Saturday, May 18.

The closures will take place on the following dates and between the times shown below:

8pm on Thursday 9 May and 6am Friday 10 May,

8pm on Friday 10 May and 6am on Saturday 11 May

8pm on Saturday 11 May and 6am on Sunday 12 May

8pm on Sunday 12 May and 3.30pm on Monday 13 May

8pm on Monday 13 May and 3.30pm on Tuesday 14 May

8pm on Tuesday 14 May and 3.30pm on Wednesday 15 May

8pm on Wednesday 15 May and 3.30pm on Thursday 16 May

8pm on Thursday 16 May and 6am on Friday 17 May

8pm on Friday 17 May and 6am on Saturday 18 May

8pm on Saturday 18 May at and 6am on Sunday 19 May

A fully signed diversion route between Honiton and Bridport will be in operation during the closures.

Road users travelling west along the A35 from Bridport will be diverted east from Crown Roundabout, Bridport to Monkey Jump Roundabout, Dorchester and on to the A37.

They will then be diverted along the A37 to Yeovil where they will be diverted on to the A3088 to its junction with the A303 at Cartgate roundabout.

Traffic will then be diverted onto the A303/A30 to Honiton.

Those wishing to travel east along the A35 from Honiton will be diverted east along the A30/A303 to its junction with the A3088 at Cartgate Roundabout.

Road users will then be diverted along the A3088 to its junction with the A37 at Yeovil.

Traffic will then be diverted along the A37 to its junction with the A35 at Monkey Jump Roundabout, Dorchester.

Access will be maintained for all residents within the closures.
