For those looking for a family day out, they need look no further than what is on offer in East Devon.
At this time of year, there may be fewer visitors in the area but there are still activities for families to enjoy.

They are ideal for those wishing to take a look at our feathered friends and are suitable for beginners and experts alike.
All you’ll need to take along will be your binoculars as they are offered with an expert commentary from an experienced ornithologist.
Lasting roughly 3 hours, the commentary will include information on the species, habitat and behaviours of the thousands of birds on the Exe Estuary and East Devon Coast.
According to the company’s website, Ian Waite has been an enthusiastic bird watcher for 20 years and leads bird watching groups for various societies and provides commentary on tram trips on the River Axe.
He is also a member wildlife and conservation societies
Dave Smallshire has been a bird watcher for more than 50 years, and he has a special interest in wetland birds.
He is well-acquainted with the Exe Estuary’s wildlife, as it has been his patch for more than 30 years.
He is a regular with the Wetland Bird Survey counts on the estuary between Starcross and Dawlish Warren, but his wildlife interest extends to other areas, particularly dragonflies, and is known for a highly acclaimed field guide.
Those taking part in the excursion will have the chance to be inside or outside but Stuart Line to recommend that, due to the length and nature of the cruises, they are not suitable for young children.
