At the beginning of August, the RNLI celebrated its 200th anniversary with a festive and commemorative photograph.
The memorable photograph was taken at exactly 18.24 (to commemorate the RNLI's formation in 1824), outside the Jubilee Gardens shop.
The image was featured in the top ten in the UK and Ireland on the RNLI Heritage website.
Avril Cook, who took the photograph, portrayed the scenic beauty of Beer enhancing the festivities observed by the RNLI Volunteers.
Following that, the evening was marked with celebrations involving bountiful drinks, cake, and a lively dance performance by Exeter Morris dancers.
The festivities continued into mid-August as the RNLI hosted a souvenir and gift stall at Pecorama on August 14.
The volunteers had an enjoyable day and were eagerly anticipating another day out on August 21, in the company of the Lyme Regis Water Safety Team and the F2F Team.
Notably, RNLI has been named the Peco and Pecorama Charity of the Year, an honour they were grateful to receive.
Towards the end of the month, the volunteers attended a series of events beginning with the Seaton Carnival Table Top Sale on August 24, the Classic Vehicle Show on August 25, and the Street Fair on August 26.
As ever, the invitation extended to additional volunteers willing to lend a hand was welcomed with open arms.
RNLI expressed gratitude to the Seaton Carnival for its continued support.
In September, preparations are in full swing for the RNLI's participation in the Seaton Carnival Procession on September 7.
This event will be used as another opportunity to celebrate 200 years of the RNLI.
A Meet The Crew and Recruitment Morning is also scheduled for September 10, starting at 10am at the Old Picture House, Harbour Road, Seaton.
Prospective volunteers from the Seaton, Beer, Axmouth, Musbury, Whitford, Colyton, Colyford, and Branscombe will be welcome.
There will be a presentation by community fundraising manager Jason Luff, who also serves as a crew member on the D-Class lifeboat George Bearman II.
His presentation will cover key topics on RNLI activities, and the Exmouth Lifeboats, and is expected to provide essential information about volunteering with the RNLI.
The RNLI has been saving lives at sea since 1824.
Since its launch, the charity has saved more than 146,000 lives at sea.
